Subject: MOCHA INTERFACE EVENT LOG

Category: ROUTINE
           DATA DICTIONARY
           ENHANCEMENT

Description:
===========

This patch is an enhancement to the Medication Order Check Healthcare
Application v2.0 (MOCHA). It will add trapping, viewing, and reporting of
issues and exceptions encountered during VistA interactions with the VistA
medication order checking system that uses the First DataBank (FDB)
business logic and database.

Two options will be added to the PEPS Services [PSS PEPS SERVICES] menu,
the View Interface Event Log [PSS EVENT LOG VIEW] option and the Set
Parameters for Interface Event Log [PSS EVENT LOG PARAMETERS] option.
View Interface Event Log will allow users to review Drug Level, Order
Level, and System Level exception events trapped at the time calls are
made to the FDB interface. Viewers will initially be presented with a list
level view of all interface events, but will be able to select brief or
very detailed views, and will also be able to narrow the list to specific
event levels. Views can be printed to a screen or other device. The
Set Parameters for Interface Event Log option will allow the site to
toggle the capture of System, Drug, and Order level events, set the number
of days events will be retained in the file, and set the mail group to
receive reports from the nightly background tasks.

Two stand-alone, tasked, nightly background options will be added, Daily
Event Report [PSS EVENT REPORT] and Purge Event Log [PSS EVENT PURGE]. The
event report will send a summary view of the prior day's events to the
mail group specified in the event log parameters. The purge option will
remove events older than the value specified (30-120 days) in the event
log parameters and send a report to the mail group specified.

A new file, INTERFACE EVENT (#59.75) is exported with this patch. The
purpose of this file is to be a temporary storage of error information
related to interactions with the Pharmacy Enterprise Product System
(PEPS) database.
